The scenic design was very simple for this production. This was dictated by both the script and the limited build time that was available.
The letters changed position throughout the musical to create a kind of "choreography" that prevented the design from becoming static and without distracting from the actors. Upstage of the action was a generic city skyline. Simple pieces of furniture were brought onstage by the actors as necessary.

Each letter encompassed different aspects from the various jobs that are in the musical. The floor was a "rainbow" of different floors that might be in the workplaces of these workers: brick, asphalt, concrete. grass, wood, tile, and carpet.
